Meiyappan likely to be charged with betting
The Mumbai Police is expected to file its chargesheet in the T20-League spot-fixing case on Saturday and Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI supremo N Srinivasan is likely to be charged with betting.
Sources indicated that no evidence of match-fixing was found against Meiyappan of the Chennai T20 side. However investigators have reportedly found enough proof of Meiyappan's involvement in betting and association with bookies from CCTV footage and several other documents.
Meiyappan and small-time actor Vindoo Dara Singh were arrested earlier this year in May before being released on bail in June in a case which saw three cricketers from the Rajasthan franchisee booked, arrested and later suspended from their T20 league team.
